Casa Anamaria, hotel & villas is housed in a magnificent Patrician villa near a rural village. The ancient manor house and its outbuildings are surrounded by majestic gardens, woodland and fields, far from the prying eyes of any neighbor. The estate offers incredible views in every direction, with the snow-capped Pyrenees in the background during winter.
It is a place with history: the now fully-renovated old Villa María manor house was once the residence of Peter IV the Ceremonious, King of Aragon and Catalonia.
15 years ago, a Frenchman besotted with the province of Girona, Olivier Mitterrand, bought what was still an almost 70-hectare farm back then. He commissioned a full renovation and built this Palladian villa, which now sits at the heart of our hotel complex thanks to a partnership with the architect from Barcelona, Xavier Gelabert.
Nowadays, it is a charming 4-star hotel offering 28 high-class comfortable guestrooms, sitting rooms with fireplaces and a library. We make every guest feel right at home by creating a cosy atmosphere that is further enhanced by the charming building and elegant furniture.
The hotel is surrounded by two hectares of landscaped gardens designed by the landscape gardener, Martiria Figueras.
Casa Anamaria, hotel & villas is dedicated to wellness and worry-free living: a place to recharge your batteries, for privacy, relaxation, tranquillity, beauty, gastronomy from Michelin star chef Victor Trochi, wine from the sommelier Ana Vicens (President of the Catalan Association of Sommeliers), spa, massages and numerous cultural and sports activities that are also enjoyed in a refined atmosphere.
The hotel can cater for weddings, family events, seminars and management retreats thanks to its converted barn with space for approximately 50 people, more than two hectares of garden space and terraces surrounded by fields and pine forests.
Casa Anamaria, hotel & villas is located at the heart of Girona province, the veritable Tuscany of Catalonia. This area offers mountainous green landscapes of forests and fields, powerful rivers and famous vineyards only 30 minutes from the magnificent beaches on the Costa Brava.
A great deal of Catalan cultural history and wealth has been condensed into this region, which offers a great mix of culture, gastronomy and wine tourism only 60 minutes from Perpignan and 90 minutes from Barcelona.
